Can We Work With Your Type of Pool Coping?

One of the questions we hear all the time is, "Can you work with my type of pool coping?" People see our work and love the deck, but they wonder how their existing coping will fit into the process. And the answer is simple: yes. Whatever type of coping your pool has, we can work with it.

Types of Coping That We Commonly Work With:

C-Channel Coping

The most common coping we see is what’s called C-channel coping. With this style, we have the option to install a Faux Coping border, which adds another layer of detail and really frames the pool beautifully. It gives the deck a more finished, high-end look and helps tie everything together visually.

Cantilever Coping

We also work on a lot of cantilever coping, which is extremely popular. With cantilever coping, we always finish the deck with a Faux Coping border. This creates a clean, defined transition around the pool and really elevates the overall appearance. Depending on the color theme, some customers want that border to blend in subtly, while others want it to contrast and really make a statement.

Bullnose Coping

Another coping style we still see very often is bullnose coping, especially the older reddish-colored versions. Even though that look has become less common in newer pools, it works incredibly well with our process. Most customers with bullnose coping choose color themes like Hurricane Slate or Sandstone, but it also looks fantastic with gray tones and more modern palettes.

Precast Concrete Coping (Anthony or Sylvan Coping)

One of the most popular coping types overall is precast concrete coping, also commonly referred to as Anthony coping or Sylvan coping, depending on the region. Over time, this coping often becomes rough, uncomfortable, and worn down. We hear it all the time, people say it’s hard to sit on, and bathing suits even get snagged or torn. This is where our process really shines. We’re able to resurface and smooth that coping, making it comfortable again, without the need to remove or replace it. It’s a huge improvement, both visually and functionally.

Natural Stone and Cardinal Coping

Natural stone coping is also a great fit for the RenuKrete process, as is cardinal coping. Each one integrates seamlessly with the finished deck and maintains its character while benefiting from the upgraded surface around it.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is this: No matter what type of coping you have, we design the deck around it. We don’t fight it, we enhance it. Every pool deck ends up looking cohesive, intentional, and honestly… pretty impressive. Seeing how all these different coping styles come together with the finished deck is one of our favorite parts of the process.”
