Customer Walkthrough: From Worn Concrete to a Finished Backyard
I remember being at this property and meeting with the family like it was yesterday. They had a pretty tough time deciding exactly which color theme to go with. The pool deck was about 25 to 30 years old, with some moderate cracks, a lot of built-up dirt and mold, and a sandstone-colored bullnose coping. There was also no caulk between the coping and the concrete, which is something we always recommend and, of course, took care of in the final result.
Why They Chose RenuKrete
This family knew right away they wanted RenuKrete. They had already heard about the advantages, especially compared to traditional overlays. They were familiar with the common problems like chipping, peeling, and delamination, and they wanted a solution that addressed the concrete itself rather than covering it up. The real dilemma was not whether to move forward, but which color theme to choose.

Choosing the Right Color Theme
As you can see from the "before" photo, there were a lot of different colors at play. Between the home, the wooden deck, the landscaping, and the existing coping, they didn’t want something too neutral, but they also wanted everything to feel cohesive. After going back and forth, they chose Granite Boulder. It’s a bright, fresh color theme with a subtle blue tone that really opens up the space.

The Finished Result
The final result ended up being a lesson even for us. No matter which color theme you choose with RenuKrete, it all comes together and looks phenomenal. It does not need to match everything perfectly to look intentional and well designed. In fact, this is something I still tell customers today. Do not stress about matching every element exactly. The finished deck will naturally complement the home, the landscaping, and the pool area, while looking a thousand times better than before. And that is exactly what happened here.
