Granite Boulder Concrete Pool Deck Upgrade
A large pool and spa deck in New Jersey, showing widespread cracking and long-term wear, is transformed with a hand-sculpted Granite Boulder finish, without removing a single slab.
PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Color Theme: Granite Boulder
Location: New Jersey
Main Issues: Spalling & Cracking
Surface: Concrete Pool Deck
What This Pool Deck Looked Like Before
Over time, the slab showed clear deterioration from Northeast freeze-thaw cycles. Sections of the surface had begun to break down, with spalling exposing rough areas throughout. Cracks ran across multiple slab panels, and expansion joints had widened and darkened from buildup. The color had faded unevenly, leaving the deck with a dull, washed-out look.

The Finished Pool Deck: After RenuKrete
The same slab now reads as a completely redefined outdoor space. The Granite Boulder finish spans the entire deck, creating a continuous, hand-sculpted surface from the house to the pool edge and surrounding areas. The flagstone pattern introduces natural variation and movement, while subtle contrast between sections adds depth without overpowering the space. Clean mortar lines reinforce the look of individually placed stone.
Previous damage, including spalling, cracks, and visual inconsistency, has been fully integrated into a single cohesive surface. The result is a deck that feels intentional, balanced, and built for long-term performance in a New Jersey climate.

Project Overview
The same concrete slab now reads as a fully redefined space. The Granite Boulder finish spans the entire deck, creating a continuous, hand-sculpted surface that flows around the pool and surrounding areas. The flagstone pattern introduces natural variation, with irregular shapes and clean mortar lines that give the appearance of real stone. Subtle tonal differences add depth while maintaining a cohesive look across the entire surface.
All previous damage, including spalling, cracks, and visual inconsistencies, has been integrated into a single unified finish. The result is a pool deck that feels intentional, balanced, and built to handle the demands of a New Jersey climate.
What Makes Granite Boulder Stand Out
• Hand-sculpted flagstone pattern with natural variation in size and shape
• Light, cool gray tones that complement blue pool tile, gray siding, and neutral exteriors
• Clean transitions around spa steps, diving board mounts, and composite deck borders
• Soft, low-contrast finish for a balanced, dignified appearance
• Sealed surface engineered to resist UV, pool chemicals, and freeze-thaw cycles

What RenuKrete Homeowners Have to Say
The 5 Star comes from the work that was done. Very creative, and the workers were like an army. They were in sync with the leader of the team. They took their lunch and immediately restarted with the process. Excellent workers. Linda was very professional and consultative. We met with Alex the owner who was our deciding factor.
Robert and Ramona
Thank you RenuKrete! Your quoting, planning and execution were all in alignment. The work itself was completed in a timely manner. We are very happy with the end result.

The crew worked hard all 3 days. They were also fun to interact with. All concerns were addressed when asked. Would recommend this company to anyone.
