RenuKrete
Granite Slate Neptune Edition Concrete Pool Deck Upgrade
Project Story
PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Color Theme: Granite Slate (Neptune)
Location: New York
Main Issues: Cracking & Spalling
Surface: Concrete Pool Deck
A worn-out concrete pool deck in New York hand-sculpted into a natural slate-inspired surface; no demolition required.
What This Pool Deck Looked Like Before
These photos show the pool deck before work began. Cracks, rust stains, pitting, and surface wear were visible across the entire area. The existing concrete provided the base needed for RenuKrete’s hand-sculpted resurfacing process.

The Finished Pool Deck: After RenuKrete
The difference speaks for itself. What was once a cracked, worn concrete slab is now a hand-sculpted Granite Slate surface with the depth and character of natural flagstone.

Project Overview
The original pool deck at this property in New York had been part of the backyard for years, in a semi-rural setting with the deck positioned slightly distanced from the house. Approximately 45 years old, the concrete surface had developed cracks along the expansion joints, visible pitting and spalling across the slab, and rust stains bleeding from corroded anchor points embedded in the deck. The surface was worn, uneven, and showing clear signs of deterioration from years of weather and use.
Rather than demolish the existing concrete, the homeowners chose RenuKrete to resurface the deck. The updated surface gave the pool area a completely refreshed look while preserving the original slab underneath.
What Makes Granite Slate Neptune Stand Out
• Hand-sculpted flagstone pattern with natural variation in size and shape
• Modern look that enhances the space without feeling overbearing
• Pairs well with white, light blue, and gray homes
• Balanced, medium-contrast finish for a clean, refined appearance
• Sealed surface engineered to resist UV, pool chemicals, and freeze-thaw cycles
